In 1891, Eugeen Leën Sr. started printing company St. Quintinus in Hasselt.
2nd generation Godfried Leën succeeds his father as the new owner of St. Quintinus.
In 1948, Armand Paredis started printing company Haletra in Helchteren. He insists on quality, craftsmanship and service.
The 3rd generation Leën family joins the company and rebrands Printing Company St. Quintinus to Leën Offset Print.
The children of Eugeen Leën Jr. and Luc Leën make their appearance. Stjn Leën starts in 1993. That same year, Leën Offset Print moves to their new site in Hasselt.
In 2007, Haletra invested in a new extension. The production halls are also being renovated and the business area is thus expanding to 6,000 m2.
Eugeen Leën Jr. and Luc Leën step aside and leave the company to their 8 children who change the name to "Drukkerij Leën".
In 2014, the 3rd generation Dieter Paredis takes over from his father Werner. By expanding the range to include digital and later Large Format Print, Dieter's Haletra is transforming into a strong multiprinting partner that is active internationally.
Haletra is investing heavily in additional printing capacity and finishing machines. At the existing location, it will start the construction of a new production hall of more than 2,200 m². This created 15 to 20 additional jobs.
Drukkerij Leën merges with Profeeling and PrintPassie. It thus transforms into a one-stop shop print partner and continues under the name Chapo.
…with Haletra's aerial work platforms. Thanks to the huge success that large format printing has added to the product portfolio, Haletra decided to further expand their service with its own placement service.
In 2023, Chapo decided to expand their business. With the acquisition of printing company DePress, Chapo strengthens its position as a print partner.
Haletra and Chapo join forces and continue as Haletra-Leën. All production activities are centralized in Haletra's modern facilities, where more than 60 employees manufacture high-quality graphics products. Haletra-Leën thus positions itself as the one-stop-shop print partner for all your printing needs!
In 1948, Armand Paredis started the printing company Haletra in Helchteren. The company name is inspired by the old village name. From the start, he insists on quality, service and craftsmanship. And that soon paid off. From five employees, Haletra is steadily growing into a thriving company with around sixty print specialists. With sons Werner and Kurt Paredis at the helm, the company enhances its reputation and strength.
To boost its ambitions, Haletra inaugurates a new magnificent extension in 2007, a real landmark with architectural appeal. By using specific materials and space layout, the open business philosophy is fully reflected in the experience of the building. The production halls are also renovated, which results in an impressive increase of natural light and an expansion of the business area to 6000 m2. In addition, there is a substantial investment in new printing presses. These key steps create extra capacity and space for dynamic growth in the future.
Since 2014, Werner's son Dieter Paredis, being the third generation of the family business, starts as head of the company. Thanks to the sustained investment strategy and the forward-looking vision, Haletra positions itself amongst the top 10 graphic companies in the Benelux in the field of offset and digital printing. Haletra thus transforms into a strong multiprinting partner that is active internationally.
Haletra wants to stand out as a print specialist, works in a future-oriented way and has the ambition to position itself among the 10 most important Belgian sheet printers. It invests more than 8 million euro in extra printing capacity and finishing machines. At the existing location, a new expansion and the construction of a new production area of more than 2,200 m² is started. This expansion doubles the production space and machine park, resulting in even shorter processing times. Nearly everything can be finished in-house and 15 to 20 additional jobs are created.
Day-to-day management is taken over by 'non-family CEO' Koen Braem. His vision and expertise led him to invest in a large-format printer from Agfa-Gevaert and a cutting machine from Zünd. This has enabled Haletra to maximise its product portfolio and ensure its service as a one-stop shop print partner
…with our aerial work platforms. Haletra further expands its services as large format printing adds huge success to its product portfolio: an in-house placement service for large format is set up.
